+1. We need the filter model #, but i just checked several that used that filter and they didn't have that part on the filter.
When I looked at the cartridge itself, your piece looks alot like the inside where it attaches to the filter body. Maybe the old one broke out when you removed the cartridge ?
Or it's an adapter piece that came with the new cartridge to fit another model ?
