Pool Pump Motor/Seal plate

So my pump's motor and seal plate went out on my 2hp jandy pool pump. Its going to cost $789 to fix both. Or... i could get a new variable speed pump. The pump is about 9 years old. The cost savings with variable speed pumps is a lot, especially here in Florida, and with an infinity wall and 18-20k gallons, i am not sure what i should be looking for? I am not going to install it myself, i don't have the expertise and due to age, not an option. I was quoted 2700$ for IntelliPro3® VSF Pool Pump which seemed reasonable, but.. is that too much pump (for my pool size)? I have a 2nd pump that runs the infinity wall and is variable speed.

Not sure what the best choice is, fix old pump parts or get new one.. heh I would love some opinions.
I am using iaqualink with an aquapure salt generator etc.

Your Aqualink from 2016 may not be able to control a Pentair pump. Check the software revision. You need at least Revision O. Otherwise you will need to stick with a Jandy VSP.

So i decided just to replace the motor and seal. Because i was worried that 2hp was needed anyway to push water over the inner spa. But, nonetheless the next problem... Iaqualink is not controlling the pump. i have to use the circuit breaker to turn it on and off, I was not home when they came out and my power was off, but they told me all was good when i came back home, anyway, i turned it on and investigated it, and this is what's happening, their response " That's very bizarre we wired it exactly the same as the motor that came out of there it's just two hot wires 115 x 2 and the ground there is no communication wire we didn't open the breaker box and change anything! the timing might be off on your inside control because you turned your breaker off we have no idea what would cause the issue your describing ??

Single-speed pump?

At the outside panel do you hear a very-audible "click" when, after putting the system in "Service Mode," you press whichever button controls that pump? If not it, could be a bad relay or a bad board.

If so, it could still be a bad relay or a wire that has come disconnected from the relay.

When the wiring conduit is disturbed by removing and re-installing to a motor/pump, it can come loose in the panel, especially if it happened to be connected to a "pigtail" with wire nuts.

Hi, i hear a click when i turn the pump on from within the app. but the pump is already running because the breaker is the only thing turning it on and off right now. checked with chatgpt and this is what it said
