Pump Turned Off - Where Did the Water Go?

Back into the pool.

The pool water level and the spa water level should be about the same, or it siphoned below the spa returns.

The pool level didn’t change, but the water level in the spa was well below the returns.

Jim R, I’m not sure what photos of my equipment pad you refer to. I turned the pump back on and the spa refilled to its normal level.

Equipment pad is the area with all the PVC plumbing, your filter and valves...Pictures help us understand your system, and we can visually see how the valves are set.
Is your pad above or below your pool and spa?

R,

When a raised spa, drains back into the pool, it is almost always the check valve in the spa make-up line...

Pics of your equipment pad would allow us to identify the part for you, unless you already know where it is.

Thanks,

Jim R.

R,

It is hard to tell in the pic, but here is what I think...

Where is the make up line 1.jpeg

If that is a check valve, like I think, its job is to keep the spa from draining down when the pump is off..

Replacing the flapper will most likely fix your issue.

Thanks,

Jim R.
