I went outside this morning and saw that the water level in my hot tub was down to the just below the returns. I assumed I had a leak in one of the returns. Turned the pump on and filled up the hot tub and when I turned the pump off it drained back down to the returns (about an inch every twenty minutes). I then noticed the water level in the pool was high, so it seems like the water is draining from the hot tub to the pool when the pump is off. I just turned the spa on by itself and the water level is not lowering.
The pool company came out a few years ago to change the light in the hot tub and they turned one of the valves at the equipment pad and it drained the hot tub water into the pool (I guess I need to learn what all these valves do). I'm assuming there may be a problem with the valve? I tried contacting the pool company, but they are closed until Monday, and I'm not sure how long after that until they will be able to come and check it out (different city). Should I leave the pump on so the hot tub is not half full, or turn it off until they come out? Any ideas on what's going on and if I can possibly fix it myself?
Thanks,
Chris
