My wife said she can't use the tub as much as we have been because her skin is getting so dry and breaking out. Is there anything I can do to help with that? I thought I read salt but I couldn't figure out the specifics.

Currently using the Dichlor chlorine method.

Oh I haven't been using that. Just using a note on my phone. I should start doing that. Fresh water a week ago.
Ph at 7.5-7.6

Currently adding .6oz of Dichlor after each 30min 2 person soak.

You do need a subscription to keep more than 1 log or have more than 1 “pool” but I find the yearly fee ($8) to be well worth it.
Especially since I can look back in time and see everything.
I use it for my pool & hot tub.
If you click my profile picture there’s a link to my logs.

Not sure what that amount of dichlor will yield you - please fill out your signature including your tub’s volume. It helps us help you quickly without asking the same questions over & over or searching the threads.
See my signature below my posts.
If on a mobile device turn it sideways to see.

What is your general fc, cc & your current calculated cya?
My aplogizes. I'll get that stuff added. 410 gallon tub. I havent calculated cya yet because I know it takes between 3 and 4 oz of Dichlor to get to that 20-30 CYA range and I'm only at 2oz so far. .6 adds about 6FC.

We have been using the tub daily so 6FC usually holds me over until the next use. However once I get to liquid and am not using it as much, I've been using 5oz of liquid or 12FC that keeps me above zero got a few days. My ozonator and uv eat up FC at rest.

The two reputable brands that offer drape over units are solaxx (saltron mini) & controlOmatic (there are various chlormaker units with various levels of bells & whistles)

Are you saying I should be manually testing CYA after each addition of Dichlor or would I just add the dichlor and it will calculate the CYA?
Use The effects of adding section of PoolMath to see how much each addition adds & then add those amounts up & record the sum as your current cya level.
In poolmath I keep logs of all test results and additions so I record my “calculated sum” of cya as a test result so it keeps track for me since it “remembers” your latest logged test results and automatically populates them as your “current” value.

So from my understanding these are mainly to maintain levels between usage but you will also have to add chlorine after bathing. Is that right? And with these you also have to add salt to the tub which will be converted to chlorine?

Okay. I paid. I should have done it earlier but I wrongly thought it was $8 a month. $8 a yesr is a no brainer.

Yes, mainly for the standby needs- some people are able to get by with smaller bather loads without adding extra fc.
One of the chlormaker models offers dynamic maintenance of fc levels (the smarter spa)
The necessary salt level varies from 500-2400ppm.
