Hello, my swg stopped producing chlorine last week. I took it off to ch ck for scale and clean it, however this looks to be more like the plates are starting to deteriorate.See attached .Water chemistry is on point (except for chlorine). Cell is 7 years old. Does this look like it's time to replace it?

Thanks

What SWCG? How are you testing? What are your current pool water chemistry test results?

What makes you think it is not generating chlorine?

This year there has been more heat and UV impact in many areas of the country.
When is the last time you tested your CYA level? A lower CYA can increase FC loss.

Cya is 60. I've tried everything and feel like all levels are good. That's when I took of the salt cell to see if it need to be cleaned but the only issue I see is those rough broken down areas on the plates....think the salt cell isn't working because of that. Do you think I should bump up the cya?

If the CELL light is steady green, it is creating chlorine. It may be creating less than in the past.
