Polaris 280.47,
Looks like blown in dirt to me...
What type of pool cleaner do you have???
Keep in mind that your filter will not see this dust, or dirt, unless it is sucked up by some kind of cleaner.
If you just brush it, most of it will just settle back to the bottom of the pool before it ever gets near your filter.
Thanks,
Jim R.
If the filter is allowing dirt through, it first has to get into the pool. Trees are natural dust collectors and then the wind will blow it into the pool. A Polaris won't clean the steps and may not be reaching the area in front of them.Hi i have a 60,000 gallon pool that uses 2 pentair vsrs inteliflo 3 hp pumps and 2 jandy cl580 filters. Is this dirt spitting back into the pool from the filters or is it part of the environment i live in? The pool is located out in the country with dirt and trees.View attachment 577598
Cartridge filters (two CL520) do not blow anything through them except what gets into the pool. If the cartridges are good, the air relief screen is in place, a manifold is not broken dirt does not blow through them. Dirt, especially in an open area, falls into a pool 24/7/366 (yeah, its leap year) and trees exacerbate the issue. Could be sand as well if the wind is strong enough or there is a source in the pool area. We’re country too, and there is a fair amount of dirt and sediment that regularly shows up. But this looks like it is mixed with sand and being blown in from the filter, which we also had at one time. Our sand filter had a broken lateral, so that was the cause. We actually replaced our sand with a cartridge filter, it stays a lot cleaner.
Right. Like I said, our pool stays a lot cleaner with the cartridge filter as opposed to sand.Cartridge filters (two CL520) do not blow anything through them except what gets into the pool.
