Our salt cell is done. We've had our system for 15 years. Its the Hayward with a t15 cell. Pool is 28,000 gallons. The prices of the cells right now are around $899 for Hayward or $500 for off brand. I can get a Circupool system for $1100. Should I go ahead and replace the entire system? Wondering if anything "new" has come out that would be beneficial to upgrade to? I don't want to pay the $1800 for a Hayward system right now - unless its better and worth it. But the control panel looks exactly the same. Is there a system available that I can read from an app on my phone - because that would be awesome! Thanks for any help! Its time to swim and I need to resolve this fast.

Welcome to TFP.

Nothing new in SWG technology in many years.

15 years was a good run for a SWG system.

Which Circupool system were you looking at?

The Circupool equivalent to the Aquarite T15 is the RJ45+ which is $1389

I was looking at the universal40. I’ll look at the RJ. Thank you!

Our control box seems to still be working fine. Just need a new cell (I think) we have replaced the cell every 5 years. I just don’t know if perhaps the whole system should be replaced now or give it another go with a replacement cell. Not sure how long the “system” life is.

If looking at the Circupool, the RJ45+ or RJ60+ would work well.
With a 27,000 gallon pool, the larger RJ60+ would be better.
We recommend a SWG that is 2 times the pool volume.
