Not pool in signature.
IC40 on a Easytouch panel, salinity: display agrees with k-1766 test 2900. All lights on with the 100% setting, flow green, and the cellt is solid green. Removed the cell to inspect plates and are clean as a whistle. What's my next step short of replacement. TIA, Allan

How are you proving it is not producing chlorine?
If the Cell light is green, it is producing.

Allan,

If the Cell light is green, then the cell should be making chlorine...

As a test, set the output to 50% and then see if the cell light is on for about 2.5 minutes and then off for 2.5 minutes..

If you have zero CYA or you have an algae bloom, even if you can't see it, the cell can't make chlorine faster than it can be consumed.

Note.. If the cell light blinks, even with the cell clean, it is dead. When this happens, if you power up the cell it will 'appear' to work for a few minutes or a few hours, before starting to blink again.

How old is the cell?? There is a date on the S/N on the bottom of the cell.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Monday pool had 6.5 ppm via liquid FC and 0 CC. There's currently approximately 30-40 ppm CYA, pool has auto cover water is crystal clean/clear. Today opened cover to same looking water and left the cell set at 50% Monday afternoon with the pump on 7/24. Checked chlorine this afternoon @ 2.5 ppm and 0 CC. This is telling me it not putting out.

Pool is 5 years this season so that's the age of the cell too. In my opinion pool is 32-33k gallons so the ic40 is undersized but should still be producing. Prior to Monday I had the cell set @100% over 2 days and still found 0 FC eventhough the CYA was 0 from opening all this with the auto cover on and pool not used. I have since added so far 10lbs CYA but remember pool is covered so I'm not worried from a UV perspective.
