Howdy,

I recently setup my Intellicenter controller and all seems to be working well. I have the Wifi working (already had a firmware update), created an account, turned on the Web app features, etc. I was able to login and access the controller via intellicenter2.com website, so I know the account is created, pentair knows about it and the controller is logged in and at least the basics are working.

But when I try to fire up the Pentair Home app, it askes my email and then, instead of asking for the login password, it goes into "create an account mode" (asks for a new password and confirmation, has various opt-in checkboxes and only offers "Create account" as an option).

That makes me think I'm using the wrong app or something?

If I stay logged out and use the ICT local button, it finds and allows me to access my controller, so at least in theory, the home app can work with my controller.

Does anyone know if the Home app is the correct one? If so, any thoughts on what I would have to do to be able to "login" to the account I have connected/associated with the controller? or maybe why intellicenter2.com works with that login but not the app?

I'm looking forward to setting up my (very simple, compared to much of what I see here) pool system.

I appreciate any pointers anyone can give me and apologize in advance if I'm being an annoying newbie on this ;-)

Welcome to TFP.

Show us the screens you are getting.

If you put in an mail Pentair recognizes then the next screen prompts you for a password.

If it does not recognize the email then it goes into Create Account.

Check that you are not fat fingering the email.

If I remember correctly…
When you sign in to the Pentair Home App for the first time and you provide an email and password it knows (from the old IntelliCenter2 App), you are informed that it recognizes your login and asks for some details to be used for the PHA setup. It asks for your name, address, mobile number and your notification preferences. Thereafter, you should be all set. Don’t know why they ask for name and address, as they should have that info already, but they do.

You can enter Mickey Mouse and 1 Disney Way for all they care.

With all of the hacks of data I provide as little personal information as they really need. I have no interest in feeding Pentair's marketing machine.

Thanks, but the email is correct (double checked and being filled in from the auto-fill in on my phone). It's pretty simple and the exact same email used on the IntelliCenter website works (even cut and paste between the two).

here's what I get after I enter the email address (again, cut/paste the email address that just worked on the intellicenter2.com website). Also, the password I used when I created the account meets all the requirements (min # chars, upper, lower, has numbers and special char), so it should be valid here too.

Did you do that and humor the system and put your password in again?

When you transition from IntelliCenter2 to Pentair HOME they do password setup again.

I didn't because I was worried that it could result in duplicate accounts, possibly causing a nasty conflict.

I can absolutely try it though - just a little leery.

Well, went through with it - seems like a mistake. It finished and says I have to add a device and it doesn't seem to have a way to add an intellicenter. Only allows adding an intellisync or intelliconnect, whatever they are (trying them none of the options seem to allow anything I can find on the intellicenter.

I suppose the upside is the IntelliCenter website still lets me login with the account, so it didn't totally trash something.

So I think whatever this is just got worse :-(

Did you get an invite email to move to Pentair Home?

Pentair is moving users in phases and you have to wait for your invite to move. After the invite your IC will show in Pentair Home app.

Nope - I just registered the intellicenter today (finished installing it yesterday), so not sure where that puts me. I really hope I haven't screwed myself :-(

Have you downloaded the IntelliCenter2 app on your phone (iPhone or Android?) and tried logging into it?

I just did and was able to login and it works - pretty much the same as the intellicenter2.com website.

And I can use the Home app, just in local ICT (?) mode only.

I guess I'll sit on my hands a while and see if they send the migration notice to me. If I really cannot wait, I'll contact them (though I get the impression as a DIY guy, that may not be a great idea)

Gerry

Be patient and Pentair will eventually send you a migration invite email.
