Is there a 4-way valve?

... and if no - why not?

I have 3 ways for my water to go: pool jets, waterfall, spa. I am 100% sure many pools have more than 2 options. Same thing for the intake: spa, cleaner, main drain.

I was looking everywhere and there doesn't seem to be a 4 way valve. So, you got to fiddle with 2 x 3-way, which makes everything difficult and ugly in terms of plumbing.

Thanks,
Truwolf

If you have 4 ports, the diverter has to block one port, so it does not make a lot of sense to have an extra port.

There might be a few instances where a 4 way valve would be a good choice, but not too many.

Thanks, JamesW.

This one seems to feed from the bottom, so the diversion can go all 4 ways. Cool ...

Currently out of stock unfortunately. Will report back if I get my hands on it.

yeah, saw that.

But this one doesn't have the standard screwed-on top ... so, you couldnt put an actuator on top.

If you posted pictures of both your supply and return manifolds, perhaps we could suggest improvements. Labeling which valve does what would be helpful, if you know how.

I doubt that 4-way does what you'd want it to. And I very much doubt there is any actuator that would allow your future automation controller to do anything useful with a 4-way. An automation controller, valve actuators and some valve setup tricks would very likely get you where you want to be, where a push of a button or two positions all your valves for you.

A 4-way valve will probably not be a good choice.

The regular two-way or three-way valves will probably do a better job for you.

Maybe show your system and explain what you are trying to do.

Hi JamesW,

Thanks for weighing in.

I thought I explained it before ...
- I have 3 incoming pipes (cleaner, spa, main drain)
- then pump/filter/heater, etc
- 3 outgoing pipes from there (pool jets, waterfall, spa)

In my mind it is obvious that 2 x "4 way valves" would be a way simpler setup than 2 x 2 staggered 3 way valves.

Less valves, less pipes, ...

Not sure how to explain if differently.

Thanks,
Truwolf

But how would you adjust each leg with one stoppermabob? You might be able to reduce flow for 2 pipes next to each other, but what if you wanted to adjust leg 1 and 3 ? Or adjust all 3 to split suction 25/25/50 (etc etc) ?

You want function here, not form.

in spa mode I need 100% spa on both ends. for the other 2 I can have the valve sit in the middle - like I do today with my 3 way valves.
