Hi everyone,
Made it through the freeze without problems thankfully, but my water feature pump motor is on its last legs and runs in freeze mode. It’s a 230v 2.2sfhp single speed motor so looking for an equivalent. Full model name is Sta-Rite Max-E-Pro 2HP Energy Efficient Up-Rated Pool Pump 230V | P6EA6G-207L.

I’ve replaced my cleaner booster pump before so I know a bit but I want to make sure I make a good choice. If the Pump housing appears fine can I just replace the motor (and seals, etc)? Should I disassemble to check internal condition before ordering a motor?

Any help appreciated,
Alex

Single-speed motors like that are no longer legal in the US. The Century EVQ225 is the legal motor that can be used and will work with relay control, just like your existing motor. While you might find a single-speed available, the cost would be very similar to the EVO.
A GO KIT 38 should have the seal and O rings you need to complete the job.
A good video (slightly older model pump, but they are the same).

Finally got around to replacing the pump yesterday. The Impeller screw cap shredded while taking it apart so need to order a new one. On the impeller it has stamped C105-238PD (The D has a circle around it) but I can only find C105-238PDBA that matches the same 2 HP, are they the same?

Also, the guy at the local pool store said it’s normally a good idea to replace the impeller. It’s at least 5 years old, pump is 14 years old but it only runs a feature so doesn’t run much. The impeller looks fine to me, the metal bore on the diffuser had some patina but looked ok to my untrained eyes.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. There is seldom reason to replace an impeller, especially on a water-feature pump. Unless it is extremely worn from moving a lot of water that is very dirty, just reuse it. Even then, for a water-feature it should be fine.
Both those impellers are rated at 2.2THP according to the info I have.
It is very important to replace the left-hand thread impeller screw.
