Spa jet removal

Normally, they just twist out with your hand but that one looks like they used a sealant on it so it may not turn.
I noticed in the picture that the jet was separate from the outer ring and came out independently. I fashioned a tool by cutting 4 notches in a PVC pipe to insert into the tabs on the jet housing. Then just unscrew. Attached is a picture of the pipe and what was clogging the jet. Thank you.
