During heavy rains

My first time with with heavy storms after converting to salt water generator. Before storm my salt readings were 3400 during the storm as we speak. My salt readings are 2700. I’m sure it is due to the rain at top of the pool pulling from skimmers. Is it best to close the skimmers and use the four main drain, so I can get an accurate salt reading? I’m concerned with the low salt readings as we speak. It could damage the salt water generator.

Low salt will not damage the SWG.

Turn up the speed of your VS pump to mix the pool water and run your cleaner to stir the water up.

The rain water is stratified at the top and your pool water needs a good mix.

Brush the pool, that will mix it.

A low salinity will not harm the SWCG.

Thank you sir . Is it good practice to up my percentage of my salt water generator during the storm? The water is already at the top of the coping

Should not be needed.

If you have significant overflow, then you have to test CYA and salinity to maintain proper levels.

Yes sir . I have a drain overflow. Once it recedes below the drain I will test cya and salinity

The AquaPure manual says "Low salt concentration below 2.0 gpl will cause premature cell failure." That's 2000ppm. So you have some leeway.
