I successfully closed by myself.

I vacuumed the pool this morning.

Tested the water and shocked the pool.

I did not buy into the algaecide this year. Just not using it.

Started to drain water off via backwash/rinse/ waste and using 2 sump pumps.

Disconnected the pipe from filter and blew the line as much as I could. I then reversed it and suctiononed the line. Poured antifreeze down skimmer hole and added the gizmo. Went back to pump and removed manifold and SWG. Loosened fittings at heater and blew heater out.

Blew all return lines and capped. So here's my helper... I cut a pool noodle to shove one end in the vac hose and the other in the return line so I could cap while it was still blowing. Worked so well!!!

The only line I cannot blow is the slide line, I suction it and add a gallon of antifreeze to every line.

I finally covered it all by myself.

I pulled the plugs on the pump and put all my eyeball fittings in the pump basket. I started at 10am was finished by 3pm. I'll clean the filter this weekend.

Nice job! Out here in Las Vegas, I don't have to close. Curious how cold was the water? When was the last time you were in the pool?

Water was probably 70. Haven't swam in 3 weeks. I'm widowed due to covid and I just wanted to get it off of my "Very Important Things To Do" list before it gets to cold! I'm glad it's done!

Sweet job old friend !!! :salut:

It's been low 50s most mornings. I think it's close enough to make it through once the bulk of the UV is off the water.

I'm not ready to say goodbye yet. Lol. But it's all up in our face and I don't want to be looking at the cover. Even right now, just minding my business at the kitchen table, there it is.

It's certainly nice to look at. I was thinking how it's going to be a long winter once I cover it but... I was ready. I have some major landscaping I have to redo in the pool yard and building a stone patio. I'll be working on it on weekends til I can't do anymore due to weather.
