I was using a gfci 15 amp breaker for the system and it kept tripping. I changed it to non gfi and it started up just fine. Anyone know why that may be?

The OmniPL does not require a GFCI breaker.
If the GFCI breaker tripped immediately you may have connected the neutral incorrectly.
