Following a lightning strike, 3 out of 4 of my multi-colour pool lights are now dead. I got the pool with the house so don't know many details about them.
They seem to be low voltage LED. They have many different colours or changing colour patterns, which are cycled through by quickly powering off then back on.
So far I didn't even manage to remove them to check what brand they are. Does anyone have any tips? They have a black ring around them with notches which looks like a tool could grip to twist them.
I'll get a photo if it isn't clear. Any advice appreciated.

I hope they're not as expensive to replace as some of the lights I've seen when googling 😖

How did you control your multi-colored pool lights?

Some pool LED lights use a special installation tool. You can sometimes improvise something like needle nose pliers or two screwdrivers that fit into the notches to unscrew the light.

Post pics of the lights and we may be able to identify them.

Thanks for the reply. I control them with a WiFi smart switch and switch off and on to change colour.

I’ll try with some tools tomorrow and get a photo

Ok. I managed to remove one (but tore my knuckles to shreds) and they’re Jandy JLU4C12W50.

They don’t seem cheap 😕 and I know jandy stuff is hard to buy online.
Are there better or cheaper alternatives that would fit the same opening (and cable) do you think? I haven’t been able to get the cable off so far.

There is a tool that is made for removing/installing those lights, part R0829400 .
You can also use needle-nose pliers in the notches and turn the whole wrench to the left to un-thread.

So, I’ve discovered I’ll probably need to pull the whole cable out. Even though there was a screw around the cable on the back, it seems the cable might be moulded in and can’t be removed.

Is anyone aware of any cheaper brands that would fit the same opening? These seem to be about $500 each and I have 3 broken ones 😭
