Hello, my Pentair Intellichlor ic20 is reading very low salt level. The automation system is showing 0 salt level. Had water tested and 4200 is the current salt level in the pool. Cell light is off so the unit is not producing chlorine at all due to very low salt level reading.

I’ve replaced the flow-temperature switch. In diagnostic mode it reads the correct water temperature and says that only 20% of the cells life has been used.

I started by clean the cell. With no luck.

Any suggestions of what more can be done to identify the issue?

Welcome to TFP.

What automation panel are we discussing?

Do you have an internal surge card in your panel or the standalone Power Center?

Check the RS-485 wire connection from the IntelliChor to the automation.

This is what my system is and currently showing.

How old is your cell?

Look at the manufacturing date sticker on the front bottom of the cell.

What % do you usually run the cell at?

I think your cell is depleted and needs to be replaced.

An IC20 is undersized for an 18,000 gallon pool. We recommend that the SWG be 2X the pool volume. You should replace it with an IC40 cell.
It was at 50%

What is your pump runtime?

What is your pump runtime?
Pool runs 10 hrs a day year round. When I go into diagnostic mode it says 20% of the cell life has been used.

Pool runs 10 hrs a day year round.

That generates 1ppm of chlorine per day.

Is your pool indoors in a cage?

When I go into diagnostic mode it says 20% of the cell life has been used.

I calculate you used around 4,200 hours or between 40%-50%.
