Replacing Raypak heater display

Has anyone ever replaced just the display on their Raypak heater? My heater is working but not displaying properly. Upon startup this season I actually thought it wasn’t powering up but eventually realized it’s just the display. Oddly if you swipe a wet finger across it, you can make out the display for a moment. So it’s really just “cataracts “ on the screen!!

Should I attempt to replace the part? The heater is original to the pool and is about 12yrs old

What does the inside of the heater look like? Its about a $110.00 part and 20 minute repair. Literally just plugs in after you gain access to the front of the board. Rust on the door is always a scary site. This is the part:
