Should I SLAM?

Hi guys! I might be over thinking my water situation so I'm hoping for a little help. My water is blue but remains cloudy. I can't see the bottom. How do I clear it up?

I have a 13,500 vinyl above ground pool, working off a Hayward cartridge filter.

My numbers are as follows:
FC 8.4
CC 8.4
PH 8.2
TA 118
CH 83 (no heater though)
CYA 30
TEMP 70 (it's 86 outside today)
CSI 0.11
My phosphates were at 110 according to the pool store that ran my water test today.

I was planning on changing my cartridge filter tonight and moving forward with the SLAM method but thought I should check here first.

My numbers according to my at home test are:

FC 8
CC 8
TA 90
CYA 30 (stopped being able to see it around where 25 is so rounded up)
PH 7.5
I didn't test Calcium hardness because I don't have much need without a heater.

Thanks for the help!

Odd that the CC matches the FC on both sets of results.

@Jaylakay can you confirm you added the second chlorine detection solution after you determined FC and then added the exact same number of titration drops again to 'go clear' for the second time?

Probably just a co-inky-dink but I'm always suspicious of matching numbers - haha!

Let’s reverse for a moment;)…just to make sure we get this SLAM right, please confirm you followed the instructions with your TF100.

You're right to be suspicious! There may have been some user error involved lol! I'm not sure where I went wrong or if I did the CC test incorrectly but I will say that some factors have changed and my results are completely different today.

First of all, I had 25 ml of water rather than 10 ml during the chlorine test. Not accurate at all. It was a long day!
I was almost out of R0003 and couldn't re-run the CC until today!
Yesterday I cleaned the cartridge (wow was that funky) and added some chlorine level to slam level just to keep things going until I could rerun the tests.

My results today are as follows:

CYA 30
FC 15 Drops so 7.5 ppm
CC 2 drops so 1ppm
Alk 10 drops to red (turned pink at 9 but red at 10) so 100

Pool is cloudy this morning still but I have high hopes. Let me know your thoughts please. Thanks so much!

Use the 10ml sample. 1 drop = .5cc will save reagent.

No need to test CYA or TA, CH during slam. FC only, until you pass OCLT, then do CC test on that sample.

Slam on!

Wondering if I should raise my CYA up to 40? Took my chlorine up to SLAM level of 12 at 10am. 4-1/2 hours later and it was down to 6.
Is that too fast?

If you are home and your FC is falling off that fast it would be better if you can check that FC and dose back to SLAM more often, say every 2 hours?

That will help keep you in the prime algae killing zone more often which will get you to where you want to be faster.
