How much is this going to save me.

Lots of us -
It’s quite personal though, depends on what swg you get, how much you currently pay for liquid chlorine & your pool volume. The bigger the pool the faster you recoup your investment.
Here’s the one I worked up for my pool last year before chlorine got even more expensive

I'm looking at the pureline pl7704
14k gallon pool
5.27 a gallon for Walmart chlorine.
In Arizona I don't think my pool ever closes.

How do I figure how much PPM the swg will make with a 10k hour rating?

Use
PoolMath effects of adding & select swg then search for the pureline 60k- you can do this for any unit, if its not on the list just type in the #/day.
That unit (the 60k hd) has been out of stock for some time, the regular 60k unit has a rating of 7k hours.

The non-cost benefits are priceless - no buying and lugging jugs (you will still need some on hand for parties and such - SWG is good at maintinaing FC but not adjusting overall levels rapidly). No splashing. Can go away on vacation etc.

Make sure to get cell 2x or more your pool volume. A VS pump is the golden combo with SWG as you can leave it on low rpm 24/6

You should get a SWG rated for at least 2 times your pool volume.
Being in AZ, 3 times (or more) the pool volume would be better.

Consider a 40k or larger SWG.
I'm in Chandler and installed a Circupool RJ45+ on my 12,300 gallons pool. SWG only runs 9 hours per day - even in the heat of summer - and has never been set higher than 70%.

In winter, you may have to supplement with liquid chlorine for a couple months as the SWG will stop producing when the pool water temp drops somewhere below 55-60 degrees. But the pool uses way less FC in winter - I only needed 1 gallon of chlorine all winter.

Initially, you may not see a cost savings. With a SWG, youare buying all your chlorine up front. The piece of mind, no more jug lugging, etc. Is an added benefit. After a few years and taking good care of your water chemistry, the cost benefits increase.

Im going with a 50-60k. I have the factory underrated single speed pump and only want to run it 4 hours a day.
You *might* get handle demand with 4 hours per day. The Circupool RJ-60+, rated at 3.1 lb/day will generate 4.5FC per day, for your pool size, with 4 hour pump run time...if you believe their output numbers.

The 60K cell is the right choice if you want to minimize run time...just don't be surprised if you have to run it a bit longer in the summer.
