Spa plumbing leak...

Been trying to track down a leak in my pool for a while and (somehow) just recently noticed this area on my spa that seems to be leaking.

In the first pic you can see the obvious area where water seems to be leaking from the spa plumbing...and concrete cracks.

In the other pics, you can see how the spa water level is dropping down just above the jets which has been consistent for a while.

Any advice on what next? Ive been trying to get pool professionals out here (1 that specializes in leak detection) for months with no luck.

I thought it might be worth trying to bypass the spa for now and just let the pump run on the pool only and see if the water level in spa stays ... .and the pool level STOPs dropping.
Im not exactly sure how to setup my system to accomplish this.

ANY advice would be appreciated... I know I cant waste anymore time getting this figured out.

I was able to get my valves figured out to remove the spa from the water circulation.... so now I can monitor for a few days and see what the water loss looks like.

If that proves to be the main leak culprit.... what am I looking at?

A deconstruction of the spa in that area to find/fix the leak?

Mike,

I would cap off or plug each spa pipe right at the eyeball, and then fill the spa back up, and see if it holds water. If it does, that would be a pretty good indication that you have a leak in the spa plumbing.

Normally, the problem is a leaky check valve in the spa return line, but that is not going to cause the outside of your spa wall to be wet.

I don't know of any way to fix the problem without taking some of the spa apart.

Let's see if @1poolman1 has any inputs on this one..

Thanks,

Jim R.

Thanks Jim, ordered the plugs and will do that next.

Water level seems to be holding in the pool, but definitely need a few more days without spa in use to confirm.

Thanks for the help.

@Jimrahbe

I plugged the jets, refilled the spa and still leaking in the same area.

This was after a 3 days of running the pool avoiding spa usage. During that time:

- the spa level didn't drop further
- the pool level didn't drop much, maybe 1/4" max which is normal I would think with Temps in the 80s. Definitely seemed to be holding better than I had been observing.

The plugs were a challenge to get seated, so I guess there is a chance one wasn't entirely plugged properly but assuming they were, could there be a leak at the pvc / gunnite on one or more jets?

Kinda perplexed. .. gonna see where it stops leaking at and holds and can report back. Could be telling.
