Also, it is important that you have a good test kit (usually NOT what the PB gave you) to test your water.
Look at
Test Kits Compared to purchase one of these kits.

Explain what you mean by high metals? Who did the test to tell you that?
Did you fill the pool from a well or with city tap water?

The Taylor test kit will not test for metals. They do make specialized test kits for certain metals but $$$.
You may need to go to a pool store (for this very specific reason only) to have them test your water and ask for copper and iron test. Do not purchase any of their products but report back what is found. Some pool store results for metals are iffy so their results may give an absolute answer but may guide you on next steps. Also, did they add any sequestrant when the pool was filled initially?
