I am waiting on my Taylor test kit to arrive. The pool builder told us the pool water is high in metals. He was surprised to hear we didn’t have issues in our toilets or showers. We filled with city water.

The Taylor test kit will not test for metals. They do make specialized test kits for certain metals but $$$.
You may need to go to a pool store (for this very specific reason only) to have them test your water and ask for copper and iron test. Do not purchase any of their products but report back what is found. Some pool store results for metals are iffy so their results may give an absolute answer but may guide you on next steps.
