Groundhog day is the second largest betting day after the Superbowl.

Billions are bet on whether Phil will see his shadow or not.

Back in 1978, Phil was accused of being involved with a cheating scandal.

Allegedly, he had already decided on the outcome before the actual event.

Nothing was ever proved, but the conspiracy theories continue to get debated by certain people to this day.

Just remember that before you place your bets next year.

Also, Phil is like Lassie, Shamu or Flipper where they have to keep replacing them as they die.

There have been 1,489 different groundhogs that have played Phil over the years.

One year, they couldn't get a groundhog and they had to use a dog in a groundhog costume.

True story.
