Instapark Betta review

Mine returned from repair on Monday. After 3 days of cloud cover I was so excited to plunk betta in the pool this 35 degree morning. Unpacked, at the pool, about to check the propellers, lo and behold, it’s bottomless! Back to the drawing board. But I did get new propellers!

Wow! I thought it was bad when they shipped me a unit with 2 right propellors…

As I keep thinking, I’m driving up tonight to steal your betta’s bottom! And yes the customer service comments persuaded me to take a chance. I was pool happy for 9 months! That was worth it to me…
Lol! I mean… somewhere in California someone’s going “why is this bottom part just sitting here??..oh yeah… oops! “

It seems I won betta bingo. I’m going to get a “replacement”. Not sure if that’s a new #1 or #2 or old #1. I’m afraid to ask more questions.

“We are terribly sorry for the inconvenience. Great news! We'd be happy to send you a replacement with return label. Kindly clean and dry the unit out and encase it. Once the replacement received, you may drop it off at any UPS Post Office. Thank you!”

I wonder why he thought I needed to clean and dry the unit. Betta boilerplate I guess.

That's the exact copy/paste email that I received as well after they sent back my "repaired" unit that had the same stranded mode issue as before.

Man, I can't even imagine dealing with this Crud for the entirety of the 3-year warranty. I've had a working unit for 2 whole weeks since I first received it in August.

In the past they sent out replacements as soon as someone contacted them about a problem according to earlier posts. Now it seems they aren’t handling repairs the same way. My first non-repair repair after 9 months of use took close to 2 months turnaround time. Downtime for recent re-repair closing in on a month. Now the bottomless Betta provokes the “replacement” shipment that used to be done as first response. All the downtime eats up the warranty period. I didn’t get a confirmation when I asked if the warranty period resets when repaired/returned to use. Again this was customary in the past but not now. I will ask again when I get the replacement.

If I was in the market for a unit now I would not be convinced by the historical customer service as I was a year ago. Sorry to say.

I think it depends on who you talk too. I was getting a bit of a run around on my last one, they wanted me to send it in for repair and I didn’t want to wait for all that. I knew that for others they had shipped out a refurbished unit in exchange for a broken one, and I wanted to go that route because I knew it would be quicker. The person I was dealing with said I couldn’t do that, I could only send it in for repair. So I contacted Vivian and she set it right. I’m not sure if she is an owner or not, but when the other people there wanted to know who authorized a swap instead of a repair on my last one, I told them Vivian did and they were like “OK”. I was only after a swap for a refurbished unit as that to me would have been fair, but she sent me a brand new one. She used to be the only person that would return emails and answer the phone.

My replacement unit was allegedly shipped out today, and I asked about the warranty. Maria said that the 3-year warranty resets and starts new, which is good news. Not that it’ll ever make it 3 years though, ha.

Best of luck! My repaired Betta1 is still going too, although not often because of the greatly reduced UVs.
Yep same. Hard to test my new unit when it just sits there due to lack of sun the past few days.

Now that we have a sunny day, it’s like come on, do something, this oak is about to dominate your pool!D11473C6-9558-45EB-8B29-ACA33FE3B12D.jpeg

So uh, I haven’t seen it move once. It’s currently sitting in the pool with the red LEDs flashing really quickly. I’ve never seen that one before. Anyone know what fast-flashing LEDs mean, as opposed to regular blinking red LEDs?
