After 6 years of relying on a pool service, I decided to take a more active role. As a first step, I assayed pool chemistry and found some disappointing results: TA was near zero, CH was low, phosphates were over 2000 ppm, copper levels were 2.1. Also FC varied wildly (technician seems not to have been aware we had a SWG and dumped chlorine into pool, especially in advance of stormy weather). Enough! I'm doing it all myself now, saving $$ and thankful for the PoolMath calculator and this forum.

Welcome to the forum. Pool Care Basics gets you off on the right foot.

You have some serious testing errors. Probably an inadequate kit.

What does your water look like now? Can you post test results including pH, Chlorine, Cyanuric acid, TA and calcium?
