Also, it is important to know test strips are horrible Here at TFP we advise owners test their own water with a TF-100 (link in my signature) or Taylor K-2006C. That is very important. Question for ya I notice you wed sand your pool I did a test spot with 3000 grit and the side with the white line I came out and the pool was smooth agian.Welcome to TFP!

No. 3,000 grit is plenty soft, but it will take forever. Then there is no guarantee it will remain that way later. I've done a couple test spots and they seem to last a year or two before they fade away back to the chalky look.
