New AGP this summer with a T5 RJ Hayward and 2 speed sand filter. Numbers have been dialed in and perfect all summer. I used Lowe's stainless steel 1 1/2 hose clamps for the skimmer and return. They are not holding up. The screw portion is showing rust and I want to replace them next spring. What do you all recommend.

Find a marine supply store and get a marine grade clamp. Pretty much all the clamps sold in box stores and other hardware stores will state they are stainless, but as you find, they are not truly grade enough. You'll see the difference in look of steel and much higher price for the better clamps. In marine applications, we used more of the t-bolt style, and they are truly superior to a screw type band clamp.

You need to get a stainless steel clamp with a stainless steel screw.

The below page has the following types of clamps.

301 Stainless Steel with Zinc-Plated Steel Screw

301 Stainless Steel with 410 Stainless Steel Screw

301 Stainless Steel with 305 Stainless Steel Screw

316 Stainless Steel with 316 Stainless Steel Screw

Making a stainless steel clamp with a zinc plated screw is idiotic.

316 is marine grade stainless steel.

So, the 316 Stainless Steel with 316 Stainless Steel Screw is the way to go.
