So my copper level rose from .1 to .3 (per the pool store test). I’m sure it was caused by the copper Algaecide I started using at the suggestion of my neighbor since he had a bloom. That is one of the reasons I went looking for this place.

So I stopped unsing that and the copper levels stayed at .3.

I did some research and found nothing credible.

I decided to try Sea Clear Metal Clear. My pool is 34500 gallons. And it said one bottle per 10k so I should have dosed it with 3.4 bottles. I purchased 3 and put it in the pool Friday night. Had the water tested on Sunday AM and it’s down to .1.

Not adding any coopper containing algsecide anymoee.

Hope this helps someone in the future.

You did not remove the copper, you sequestered it. It's still in the water and if you fail to add maintenance doses it will come right back.

This is my understanding also, and experience using a metal sequestrant (Jack’s Magic Purple Stuff).

Do sequestered metals show up in a metals test?
