Read the above. TA is the least significant parameter of pool water chemistry. You need some to buffer pH change. It is a factor in the calculation of CSI, which is important for plaster pools.

You mean Total Alkalinity (TA) of 200?
Depends on the type of pool and equipment you have. Vinyl liner and no SWG probably not.

I’m putting the cart before the horse. I haven’t broke ground but was reading on the (first fill)
trying to figure out if my well water will be good for the first fill or did I need to find a water source.

If the only issue your well water has is high TA, that is a non issue.
If it has high levels of iron, then it is an issue.

I filled with well water at TA = 260 and my fill has always been using the same water. I manage my TA in pool at 80. No problem.
Went to the signature page to fill out particulars but we don’t have makes and Models yet thought we were going with Pentair products but they are on back order so we are looking into other products.
