New Pentair IC-40 is here!

For now, allow yourself some wiggle room like you did the other day. Once you are a SWG ninja you may dance the line of mimumim as close as you wish.
I tested a little early because I could not help myself. It’s about 3pm here.

FC is 8!!!!!

I am very encouraged that over 6 hours with the sun blasting and 92° heat that I’ve only lost 0.5 FC.

And remember, you are targeting the higher loss days that are particularly hot/sunny. If you pick up some extra FC on a cloudy stretch of days, don't micromanage and instead consider it free FC wiggle room.

Now to settle this lube/drip situation…

Just got my pool lube and gonna try to get a better seal! Really annoyed that they have a random piece of the union that seems to not be from Pentair. But I do NOT want to try and manhandle that thing off. I’m just asking for it then.

Should I apply the lube pretty liberally? Like on the threading and all around where the o-ring sits?

Yes!! Especially with my CYA at 80 I have plenty of room to let it drift up a little knowing it will likely have a higher consumption day on the horizon.

So I’m a little stumped on what to do. Lubing the o-ring for the one union that is showing a sloooowwww leak seemed to fix it! Had no issues…until I turned on the Polaris which increased the PSI by about 4. It seems that only when The pressure increases from its normal 14 PSI the leak starts back up.

Any other suggestions?

In other news, salt cell is working like a champ. 40% seems to be the perfect setting and haven’t added a touch of liquid chlorine since!

Just wanted to provide a little update on the leaky union in case it could help someone else in the future!

Turned out it was a leaky flow switch (not as obvious since it is covered, so it just appeared to be coming from the union but that's is just where the water descended) which kind of stinks considering this is a brand new salt cell. Alas, we applied some teflon tape to pipe thread and pool lube which fixed it right up. Hopefully it stays that way!
