Just opened the pool and added too much chlorine before checking PH.
My numbers are
CYA: Doesn't register
FC: 10
CC: 0
TA: 60
CH: 300k
If my actual CYA is really under 30, my shock level would be 10, and if 30, it would be 12+. So I'm either just at shock level or a little lower.
I was expecting my PH to show an inaccurately high reading, but it actually was the lowest reading 7.0.
My pool is not clear and I ideally don't want to wait until my chlorine comes all the way down (even though probably not too long with little CYA) because was hoping on using in the next day or two.
Can I assume that I'm not actually at shock level and my PH is more or less accurate? I'm thinking of raising until it registers to 7.2 and running overnight with the chance that it will balance and clear up, which gives some buffer in case it's really higher based on the FC.
Thoughts?
