New SoCal IG shotcrete pool build - equipment set, Final Inspection Passed, Pebble Done! Salt added. Back deck in process

A couple daytime pictures. Still have much to do in the yard but the pool has water lol!

Not feeling the blue umbrella though but I'm not sure if red would be too much as well since the house is red. Wife is off galvavanting the globe so I have to make these decisions 🤪

@Turbo1Ton the startup guy had no clue on the intellicenter and jacked up all of the settings to where the circ pump wouldn't work. I rebuilt the feature list at the panel but whatever he did intellicenter2 and the app say my login no longer exists. Any clue?
In addition the deck jet valve amd solar valve are backwards, they close on activation instead of open, any way in the system to change that or do I just need to physically flip the actuator?

Unfortunately I don't have any clue on the login stuff. You might just have to start over and create a new one. My PB didn't even create that. I did that myself.

Sounds like the valve travels through the proper positions, just opposite action. I think you just need to invert the actuator 'home' position. See manual excerpt below.

Perfect thank you! That's what I missed.
I tried holding for pebtair support this afternoon but it disconnected the call at a hair over an hour 🥺. I had it all setup and tested before the startup guy arrived this am, not sure why he messed with the settings 🤷‍♂️. He even deleted the spillover circuit I had setup 🤦‍♂️

I'm gonna steal a play from @kimkats playbook and say, that needs a couple of emojis. (y) for the actuator home position fixing it and  for the Pentair hang up and the startup guy being a knucklehead.

My PB readily admitted to my wife that they thought I knew more than they did about the Intellicenter, at the time. I think I was one of the first ones they installed, back in late 2019. They actually asked her if I wanted a job. So I've got that going for me if this engineering thing doesn't work out. :laughblue:

I installed all of the actuators, temp sensors and pump cables because I knew that wire routing and all of that would be a matter of opinion and I didn't want to have to re-do it. I didn't set anything up in the IC until after they turned it over. They set up a pool schedule and had it running at 3000RPM, 24/7, since I had an in floor cleaning system. Once we had the final handover, they came out to show me everything, and let me ask questions. I am sure mine was probably one of the easiest turnovers they ever had. I had a couple of questions about a few minor things, but I had already figured out how everything operated and how I wanted to make it work.

That is one of the most frustrating things I learned about building a pool. The PB or their lackey, do not ask about your preferences, and just configure/program stuff the way they think it should be. I don't understand how they can't figure out how to spend a little more time setting things up how you want it, not them.

Startup guy told me about all the high end pools he works on then said this was the first intellicenter system he had seen 🤦‍♂️, this stuffs been out for almost 4yrs, I can't be considered an early adopter 4 yrs in lol!
Discovered two new issues today.
1. There is a glue joint in the spa return at the pad that was completely missed. I don't see a clear path to glue short of adding a union but pb says they know tricks
2. The autofill bucket, which is on the end that had to have the coping raised to level the bond beam, has an overflow that I was not aware of. Since the autofill was not raised, it just had an extension lid added, this overflow is too low. I currently have a poorly fitted plug shoved into it. It seems like it is 1/2" but not where a fitting could be added. Not sure what the solution is.

Is this the plug you are talking about?
Yes sir. It appears they have that plumbed to the deck drains but it was the one time that I was not here to see. It was buried by the time I got home. I heard water running when I shut the fill off at 3am tracked it down to the end of the deck drain. 20220610_204545.jpg

I suppose high end pool doesn't necessarily equate to top of the line (IMO, available prepackaged on the market), but geez. And it is amazing how many builds post here still with the easytouch or Intellitouch on their contracts. I am always surprised when I see this. But my general opinion is that most PB's are creatures of habit and don't like to change from what they know.

1. I'll be curious to know what their solution is short of cutting it apart and redoing it. I suppose it is possible that they may try and pull a vacuum on it and have that suck the glue in.

2. May have to use some arrangement of 90 degree fitting (street ell, threaded close nipple, and a threaded 90, etc.) and pipe nipple to extend the overflow up high enough to be at the max water level line. You can't be the first to need something like that, with this arrangement of autofill. May look up/call the manufacturer and see if they have parts for adjusting this that come with the can and were inadvertently misplaced (meaning tossed because the PB's guys had no clue what they were doing.)

1 is repaired, I wasnt here but went back and watched the footage from cameras, he used a shovel to force them apart long enough to prime and glue the joint then let it flex back together 😳. I would not have had the cahones to try that but I guess when you work with pvc long enough you know what you can get away with.
