So, I have a vacuum head that goes on a long pole with a hose that can connect to the skimmer hole, or a dedicated cleaning port on the side of my pool.
Sometimes, it works great - i turn the pump up high and the thing has enough suction that it sticks to the walls - which is great because i like to vacuum the sides.
but often, it just doesn't develop much suction - it lifts off the floor, won't stick to the sides...
when i look in the pump, i see that it's not full of water - it is having trouble priming, or staying primed. without the vacuum attached it is fine. Sometimes the pump surges - fills with water then empties...
when this happens my vacuuming is very inefficient - and it's really annoying.
i sense that maybe the hose has trouble permitting enough water to flow - but as i said, sometimes it works fine...
i have tried different pump speeds
any ideas?
