Pentair Easytouch programming various pump speeds

Doug,

I am still not sure you have an ET-8 as you only have 4 relays, and it "appears" the label on the main board says "ET-4. So, we are going to proceed as if you just have an ET-4 for now.

I want you to set the following IntelliFlo speeds. Older units only have 4 speeds and newer ones 8. As you are doing this you will see a 1/4 or 1/8 which indicates you are looking at the first of 4 speeds (1/4) or the first to 8 speeds 1/8. Either way if you push the up button it will move to 2/4, 3/4 etc...

Menu, Settings, IntelliFlo, (You may have to select pump #1) then Speeds..

Change 1/4 to read.. Pool at 1750 RPM
Change 2/4 to read.. Cleaner (Aux x) at 3250
Change 3/4 to read.. Aux 3 at 2000 RPM
Change 4/4 to read.. Aux 4 at 2500 RPM

Set the name for the Pool Circuit back to "Pool" Menu, Setting, Circuit Names, find the Pool Circuit and make sure the Circuit Name is "Pool"

Remove any active schedules and replace them with the following... Menu, Schedules,

Pool everyday from 9 pm until 9 am
Cleaner (Aux X) from 5 am until 9 am

In theory, your pump should start at 9 pm and run at 1750 RPM, until 5 am when it will ramp up to 3250 RPM until the pump shuts off at 9 am.

Between 9 am and 9 pm, when the pump is off, if you push Aux 3, the pump should start and run at 2000 RPM.
Between 9 am and 9 pm, when the pump is off, if you push Aux 4, the pump should start and run at 2500 RPM if you actually have an ET-8. We will see.

Please let me know if this makes sense and is something you feel comfortable doing.

We can always adjust, delete or add things later.

Let me know how this works out.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Continuing on with this issue, I am still confused. Would an ET-8 have 8 physical relays on the board?? Mine obviously only has 4.
See pic attached. Circuits 2,3,4 are all being used by the pool light, waterfall pump, and spa light (which needs to be disconnected as we have eliminated the spa). So how can I assign a pump speed to one of these as they are being used now. Maybe I just don't understand how ET works. But when I go to Settings, Circuit Names, it has space there for me to use and assign 8 circuits, not just 4. If my unit is not an ET 8 would I have that option in the Settings Menu??

you have plenty of circuit features I wouldn’t bind to aux x unless you have solar I think it may be disrupting things. What your menu>Heat>pool>heat source. Aux x also takes up an actuator slot. Bind your speed to any other circuit feature and menu>circuit feature>on

I could be wrong but jim can probably correct me on it if it’s a 4 function I think the lights still work you just don’t have the relays and should still be able to bind. So the button is bad or it’s a settings issue

This post was helpful, I think I finally have my ET8 all ready. So now I use Pool set to 1500rpm and it is basically just runs the Salt, then I run it in conjunction with aux5/6/7/ for pump low med high, will test everything tomorrow, but this looks really promising. I did not understand you need to use the circuits together and it would run with the highest speed.
