iAqualink IQ900 - not working

Hi all, I have an iAqualink IQ900 that's not working... I actually had it working a while ago (it was connected to my Wi-Fi and the app working for a time), but it no longer works and I can no longer get it to join my Wi-Fi. I'm guessing this device might just no longer works and I'm looking to replace it. I see that there have been new versions 2.0 and 3.0 released but I'm unsure if I can use one of those new versions (without replacing the main board) or if I should look into purchasing the same exact model once again (although from my understanding this old unit doesn't work with some of the newer Wi-Fi protocols and I now have a Netgear Orbi mesh wireless system setup).

The panel I have on the wall says I have an Aqualink RS6 and the revision on the firmware is R. From what I read I can use the iAqualink 2.0 device with this setup but again I'm just not 100% on that so if someone can confirm that would be great.

Also... can anyone tell me what the difference is between the iAqualink 2.0 and the 3.0 devices?

Better connectivity with 3.0.

The biggest difference between iAL 2.0 and 3.0 is an improved WiFi radio to deal with mesh networking (among other problems the 2.0 had with WiFi disconnecting).

That panel on your wall should work fine with the iAqualink system, but it should only show that Revision ID message when the system is first booted, it should then go to the normal status messages.

Thanks... I went into the diagnostics menu to pull up the revision for the pic I took. So it looks like if I want the 3.0 system I'll have to replace the main board as well, right? I believe this would be the right one: Zodiac iAquaLink 3.0 iQ30-RS Web Connection Upgrade Kit-IQ30

Pretty sure the unit itself has gone bad... like I said I did have it working at one time. While I did change my wireless setup I have tried a spare router with zero security on it and the iAqualink I have won't connect to it. I'm pretty sure it stopped working after a storm, but since I wasn't using the app all that much at the time I can't be 100%. Now that I have a new pool heater that works it would be nice to be able to remotely turn it on which is why I'm looking to get the wireless connectivity working again.

This is all you need...

If you have...

Use iQ30-A to upgrade these systems:

AquaLink RS - requires revision R or newer
AquaLink PDA - requires revision 6.0 or newer (your PDA remote is still required for programming and scheduling)
AquaLink Z4 - all revisions will work

Awesome! Thank you for clearing that up. Glad to see my current system will support the new wireless module… definitely a cheaper way to go.
