Spa spillway

It is very likely you will have issues with a stackstone area with splashing water. No real way to remove calcium scale buildup.

The white area you show is called effloresence. No way to stop that either.

The look is pretty, but maintenance is not considered.

Dana,

It would be better if the water did not wrap around and run down the wall.

You can increase your pump speed, or the volume of water going into the spa when in the pool mode.

The lip of the spillover should have had a surface tension slot in the bottom of the spillover lip, to prevent the water from wrapping around and running down the wall.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Can you elaborate or better yet, show a picture / schematic of what you mean by this, Jim?

My spa spillover is not nearly as bad as OP here, but still a good part of the water on mine also "hugs" the spillover and ends up running along the wall a bit. It sounds like what you describe may be a reasonably simple remedy to this issue?

Under the lip of the spillover should be a groove.. about a 1/4" deep and 1/4" back from the front going across the whole spillover... Its job is to break the surface tension and cause the spillover to work correctly. It acts like a drip edge on a window sill..

It should look something like this pic... windwo sill drip edge - Google Search

Thanks,

Jim R.
