Anyone else get way too excited when their pool math app looks like this? The pool is not only clear, but has a sparkle to it. Converting to swg last year was the right decision. Although, it is a bit chilly.

Remember, SWGs like positive reinforcement just like anybody else. Use that time that you aren't needed after testing to tell it that it's a good boy. Pet it like the dog. OK boy. I'll be back next time. Here's a cookie.

Surprised the FC target range goes all the way up to 10. I was thinking the target is significantly less with SWG and that CYA level. Almost looks like the app is set not for SWG. What am I missing here?

I used the borate test some members here created and posted in a thread. The strips don't last long, and are wildly inaccurate.

Thanks for the info. I might actually not be a good candidate for borates, as my fill water is moderately high in TA. I'll see how things go this season with respect to acid usage.

My app is set up for SWG. The higher the CYA, the higher the chlorine level. My CYA dropped to 50 when I drained off a few inches of water after some extremely heavy rains here in Pittsburgh. The FC range also dropped to 2-8. I also like to maintain my FC at the higher-middle reading. When FC gets down around the low end, it doesn't take long for the pool to cloud up.
