The ever evolving life of my AGP

So today I trenched for the new PVC. And I found rust 😭 I know it's not all around the pool because I dug out the rocks on the opposite side to measure a couple weeks ago. I think it's from when the skimmer was leaking a few years ago. After a full blown panic I got down and took a wire brush to it, there is no all the way through areas. Tomorrow I'll take a wire wheel ? to the outside and paint. I do know it could be worse once I take the liner out and see the inside. This is how I have now 100% justified the $468.35 pool liner I didn't need 😜 I'm preventing disaster down the road!20220423_165401.jpg
What's the good rust spray paint stuff to buy?
On a positive note, I got a wireless pool thermometer.

I’ve got that same Inkbird thermometer. Second year, still going strong (even after I left it in the frozen pool all winter). I recommend using Energizer Lithium batteries… they cost a bit more but I got like 6 months on a set.

NOT TO SCALE - this is how I am going to plumb to the new shed. The return (green) will come out the left side and then go under the shed. If anyone sees anything that looks like it will be an issue, I'm all ears. Planning on getting the PVC buried that will be under the shed so I can get the shed off of my back patio tomorrow.

Ooof. I feel like the shed really sticks out / is an eyesore and I maybe should have got the shorter one. Too late for that now and hopefully it's just because it's new and I won't notice as much in a few weeks. I ordered some decorations to maybe make it blend in like it's supposed to be there.

I went with the Rust-Oleum rust reformer black (2 coats) then covered that with 2 coats of grey regular Rust-Oleum over the outside rust. Still have an estimated 9 to 11 weeks until the new liner arrives and I can see if there is any interior wall rust.

This is a picture of someone who is questioning how he was on board with getting a plug and play $300 craiglist Intex pool 7 years ago and now somehow ended up here. In my defence it has been almost 3 years since we've set up this new to us pool and made any significant changes to it. It's like a lifetime. 20220426_181224.jpg

My husband is very - “I don’t do pools” but if there’s something I can’t do he helps me out. Without him we wouldn’t have the awesome deck. I mentioned to him last night how much my salt level was diluted from me pumping the cover (which was inadvertently pulling pool water through it that I had to replace) so now I need twice the salt etc. He offered to relieve me of my pool troubles with his pocket knife 🔪😂
He jokes, but I know he enjoys it on hot days & appreciates that I take good care of it.

@Mdragger88 I think we are in VERY similar SO / pool relationships. Down to knifing the pool, lol! But anything that involves heavy lifting and or building he is right there even though he would much rather be working on one of his projects. He has absolutely no interest in the testing portion and I'm pretty confident that will never change.

@Mdragger88 @kne. Remind them who gets to haul away all that awkward aluminum if they knife the pool. Not you guys with your short arms, you guys can't carry enough to make it worth while. And sawzalls are just too scary. Pat them on the shoulder and walk away like a BOSS. :ROFLMAO:

I think he was done w/ pool related stuff after the 3rd drain & re-level of our last intex 😂 it was a muddy mess!
I told him I wanted to get a permanent above ground pool when I inherited a little $ & he said “ that’s fine but I don’t do pools, so you better find someone to install it!” Getting him the hot tub helped ease the burn for him lol.

Literally. The same life. We drained our Intex multiple times to level and now are in a hard side pool. Also have a hot tub :) but it's currently broken and we are deciding if we want to fix it or get a new one. I found it on CL for about $400 6 years ago, it is a decent tub but has had a couple motor / blower issues and we might just bite the bullet and get a newer one.

I have a bonding question and Google isn't much help. Before all my equipment was located against the pool wall and was inside the bonding ring around the pool. Now that SWG & pump are outside the ring do I just tie off the current ring and link SWG (teal blob) and pump? Copper wire is the purple circle drawing
