I'm trying to do a no drain water exchange but i can't find a backwash hose long enough to attach to my subpump, i need 150ft to get to my sewer drain in the front. Is there a way to attach two 2inch backwash hoses together so they don't leak?
Are you talking about a blue collapsible vinyl hose? If so, I have used a small piece of PVC that will fit inside. A couple of wire ties, wire, or even duct tape and hold it in place if the pipe is inserted far enough into the hose. You will get some leakage but it shouldn't be a major problem.
Why would you pump to a sewer if you are doing a no-drain exchange?
Yes that kind of hose. I guess i could ask the hardware store to cut me a piece of 1 1/4 PVC i can't seem to find anything long enough otherwise. Trying to drain out the old water (high CH), while filling to avoid having the pool empty because I'm in AZ and we're already at 100 degree so not safe for the plaster. HOA reqiires we drain to the sewer not the street.
