Imagine Illusion 40 Complete 10/19/21

You have a DATE!!! OH YEAH!!!!!
Yes!!! This is the first date I've been given from my PB. I usually text him once every 3 weeks. It goes like this...

"Assuming no news is good news?!" Lol

I told him yesterday I have the whole month of October off for the build and he said pool is set for delivery on September 28th. So we will be digging a few days before that. So I have to call work today to see is I can get the last week of September off.

I'm gonna get my pool!

So... plan is to just go with what is in the contract for now. I'm not doing any extra concrete right now. I know that once I go back in, it'll have a different color n I'm ok with that. I just want to get the pool in at this point.

Slide is still back ordered but all equipment is in. He ordered my cover in mid July. Have about 6-7weeks til dig day. Permits have been prominently posted since June.

Any last minute advice waiting on dig day I should be addressing? I'll have my alcoholic drinks stashed away in an iced cooler in the basement.

Plan on leaving open until end of October maybe first week of November.

A new lawn chair with an umbrella for you and your little one!!
I'll go pick up a few Adirondack chairs from Lowes this week. I'm giving up my hunting time for this pool because I'm taking off. First n last time that'll ever happen. Lol

This time of year is great because the patio, pool, and lawn and garden stuff is going on clearance. Pool floats are on clearance at Walmart now if any are left. I got grass seed last year for half price before my pool install. I loaded up on Morton’s pool salt for $1 a bag on walmart clearance last fall and keep it under the house in the crawl space. Got lounge chairs on clearance at Academy. Those things saved me a lot of money 😅

That's awesome. I'm already in debt for this but I'm happy. Lol I was talking to a few guys at work about their toys they are buying. Yesterday a guy we call Gunny told me he's buying an $83k truck and he already ordered it. He said he could use it to pull my pool out of the ground. Lol Overtime is picking up it's getting ridiculous again, mandating people left n right. I'm half way done paying for my 8 weeks off with comp time. Who'd of thought you could write your own checks or take as many vacation days as you want being a dumb CO?! The book is wide open because everyone blew through their time. I certainly dont like living in prison but I do love 8 weeks of vacation time.

Well the getting to go home part certainly helps. Even if it’s 2 shifts later.
The 8 weeks is on top of the time I already get off vacation wise too. I just comp my overtime to pay for it. I love comping time. The only thing that sucks is it doesn't go towards my retirement.

Most Public Safety (in my case Fire Dept) pensions are based on last 5 years averaging, so many load up that last couple years. Got something planned in the near future?

Then enjoy the comp time, unless you need the $.
I do enjoy it for instances like this where I can get into the book n be home for this major overhaul of the yard. It would be a hurt piece if I was stuck at work n not able to oversee them n make sure it's done right but I also feel really good about my PB. I just wants the pics! :nopic:

I have 20 years to go though. My last 3 years, I'll be putting in the time to bump those numbers. You better believe it.

I told her today that this will be the last visit until the pool gets here. I'm going to hit the last month of OT hard for comp time and make some money to buy pizza and donuts for our pool builders. She is so excited. I think I may be more excited than she is but don't tell her. We are so ready! I spoke to my PB last week n he said we should expect no more delays. Hoping for a smooth build.

The Borough came over today and they want to talk to my pool builder. They are repairing the road and want him bonded so if he cracks it, he would be responsible for it. They are doing it tomorrow.

They also want me to pull another permit. I dont know what it's for. They are closed right now but I'll be calling them tomorrow from work. Has anyone with a fiberglass pool had to pull another permit? I have a zoning permit and building permit already.

I wonder if it’s because of the load size? Like a wide load kinda thing🤷‍♀
It’s amazing & a little heart stopping watching them put one in.
