It hit here around 10:30pm or so. The wind was intense and the dirt was so thick in the air, i felt the grit in my teeth after i went outside to secure a few loose things.

The pool was a mess this morning. The top covered in leaves and pine needles...the bottom entirely covered in a layer of dirt. Skimmed the top, brushed the steps and am letting the vacuum take care of the bottom.

Yup, it was a mess alright. Darn haboobs.
Once I turned upright a couple of deck loungers this morning and did a quick manual vacuum of the spa, I saw where Creighton (my beloved Maytronics Active-60 Robot :p ), had already set to work on changing the situation.
The pool is all sparkling clean now.

Now if I could just get him to hose off all the dirt from the kool deck and patio, I would really have something to be proud of him for. :goodjob:

Several pool owners in the valley have told me that I'll regret having a pool after the first big dust storm because they spend a week getting it clean again and have to spend a bunch of money in chemicals. Lol. I spent 20 mins skimming and brushing, checked my chlorine just to be sure but it was fine and let the filter and vacuum do it's job. It pretty much cleaned itself in a few hours. Sparkling clear again. I wonder why it didn't take a week...I feel like I've been cheated of the challenge.

Yea, I've heard the same from folks as well and from my experiences, their tall tells just don't ring true with me. ;)
I have found those haboobs to be nothing more than minor inconveniences as well.
In the scheme of things considering some of the various types of storms that others get in other parts of the country, I would consider us Arizona pool owners - lucky. (y)

Rain would be great!!! Unfortunately, I saw no evidence of water this morning. Just lots of dirt.
We'll all be swimming in sand soon if we don't start getting some precip around here. ;)

Our pool was pretty muddy. We are right against the San Tan Mountains and got hit pretty hard. It took us about a week to get it cleaned. We emptied Pumba (our robot) 3 or 4 times and he was full of mud each time. Lots of brushing and running the pump on high quite a bit. Just when it was getting clean we got hit again last Saturday night. We were at my husband's brothers house playing games. Our son at home said it looked like a hurricane hit. Our deck bench full of pool stuff ended up in the pool. Our friend's BBQ ended up in their deep end. It was a lot of work but I wouldn't regret having a pool because of it. Nikilyn, we're thinking of going with Aqua White mini pebble as well and we've been searching for the right tile. What tile color/brand is this white/light aqua iridescent color on your spa? LOVE it.

Thank you! I fell in love with it too. This is it and the company we got it from. The price has gone up since January. They have other colors and I would recommend you get samples because their pictures are way off on some. Ours was pretty close though.

I’m laughing because we just got home from finalizing the designs on our pool and I read your note. We had picked out that exact same tile. Yay!

Same here.
Had to get the water level below the tile/coping bead this morning.
Since I'm still using a retro and soon to be replaced sand filter, I took the opportunity to backwash the filter at the same time so it wasn't all bad. (y)
Sure am glad to see this amount of water though. We sure did need it.
