Messed up - Flow Switch upside down

Flow switch for what SWG model?

Show us a pic of the flow switch and SWG cell.

Show us pics of the flow switch and cell on your pool equipment.

A picture is worth 1,000 questions. Such as is the flow switch installed horizontally or vertically?

More than likely it will never have an issue. But if that switch were to ever close when there is not sufficient flow, it could cause a fire hazard. Unless the manufacturer says it is OK to install upside down, I personally would have it re-done just for the peace of mind.

Just saw the picture you posted. So it is not upside-down. Just horizontal instead of vertical? Or are you talking about it being upside down in the horizontal position? Is there a control interface on it? That would be super easy to re-orientate assuming horizontal install is OK. Just loosen the two couplers a little, give it a twist, then tighten back down.

Yea a replum job plus parts Ughh... I would also have a bigger issue. If there is no water flowing

Horizontal is fine as per the instructions - its just that the sensor is below the pipe vs above. The installation manual only talks about the flow direction - which is not an issue (its in the correct direction)

My IC60 had a nearly identical flow switch, just internally. It is a flimsy piece of metal and would click and clack just from taking the cell off to inspect it. If anything, gravity will want to open the switch more as is, instead of accidentally closing it.

If you have a VS pump slow it down enough to make sure the switch operates as designed. If it does and is not leaking then I would roll with it for now. Perhaps this winter cut out the elbow, rotate the T and switch, glue up a new elbow.

The flow switch must be the secondary safety device. I do not see an issue with its orientation.

Be sure the SWCG is powered completely off when the pump is not running.
