My chlorinator has suddenly started turning off with no flow error. I was running the VSP at 1800 RPM. When it primes in the morning at full speed the flow switch is fine. I bumped the daily running speed up to 2000 RPM and was getting flow again. Two days later, getting no flow at 2000 RPM. Bumping it up, I get flow again. Is this a failing switch? Not sure why it would require progressively higher pump speed to work. Cell, pump basket and filter are clean. Thank you.

Does your filter need to be cleaned?

There is really only one thing that causes your flow to decrease more and more each day.. A dirty filter.. Just because it was clean, does not mean it is still clean..

Algae, even if you can't see it yet, can plug up a filter in a few hours..

As others have said... you need to run an Overnight Chlorine Loss Test. OCLT

Thanks,
