Hi! I am finally able to open my pool up after the winter and took off the heater cover to clean up the debris. I bought the house last fall after it was winterized so this was the first time I was able to look at it.

There is some significant precipitate on the heater coils and I was wondering if I should clean it (and if so, with what), if it has to be replaced, or if it can be left for now.

Thank you!

That does not look bad for a used heater. If nothing is leaking I would leave it alone.

@swamprat69 what do you think?

I see some oxidation, but essentialy no significant blockage of the heat echanger. As long as the observed flame is strong and blue with no orange tinging you should have no problems. Note: Initial start up after sitting unused for a while will exhibit some orange tinging until the accumulated dust is burned off.
