opening tomorrow and I think we have a leak. UPDATE: it's open. Do I SLAM this?

You SLAM with any clarity issues. Yours more than qualifies. You need circulation to mix the bleach so wait until your pump is running. You can mix it with the pool brush but it will be a lot of work on a bigger pool. :)

here's what it looks like now. I have a LOOONG way to go before it fills, and I don't think I should test before it fills, and the water is at 57, so CYA will be tough. I doubt there is very much though since the water got so low. So that's a couple days til I can CYA figured out, right? I'd say that's at least 4 days away, then, I'd SLAM? With water this color, would you still slam if there aren't any CCs? (of course I don't know this but just in case). Also, it's had 5 gallons of chlorine added.

though I did find this growing on the wall, what is it? Seems like I should SLAM, but like I said, 4 days from now? The pool guys are coming back tomorrow to open up my skimmers. I'm having them bring 8 gallons of chlorine, should I request more? aSYcVBD7QSOh535r4oPfag.jpg

can anyone help? I want to call before they close. I don't want too much extra chlorine as I have a SWG. Do you think I will need more than 8 gallons?

I think 8 will be good for your size pool. Not sure you can determine that until you can test. Do you have access to more quick if needed? btw love the profile pic with matching swim suits etc. also do you have stabilizer? I feel like you are going to need it

well sure I can drive over to the pool store, but you know COVID, (and I'm in Michigan), so if they are coming I'd like for them to just bring it. I do have stabilizer. I have a 5lb bag. thanks! That was last year's jump in picture, we do matching suits every year. I'm a little extra about some things.

I would do an OCLT after it fills. You probably will need a quick slam, but it looks like they pumped all the gross water out and pressure washed the pool. You can request more CYA to have on hand so you can raise it to 70ppm when it is warm enough to run the SWG, but for now you only need enough CYA to reach 30ppm.

they didn't pump the gross water out, nor did they pressure wash it. they literally poured 5 gallons of liquid chlorine down the walls.

Ok it won't be full tonight. My chlorine arrived. Should I add a gallon since I won't be testing until tomorrow afternoon sometime?
