Yep that is exactly what happened! Hopefully I didn’t mess up my filter putting all this DE into it! I had already ordered new cartridges, just waiting for them to get here! Hoping Monday or Tuesday next week!

Should not have hurt the cartridges. Your filter is tiny for your pool size, but you really should be able to go several months between cartridge cleanings. My filter is huge for my pool volume, and I clean my cartridges once a year. And could go longer.

I’ve just been keeping them clean because of how bad my pool was when I started the SLAM process! Green slime filled with tadpoles and mosquitoes!
 
I hoping next year will be better than this year! Pool wasn’t closed and didn’t have a cover on it and no cover to be found! We are having a solid safety cover installed next month so hopefully we won’t have to go through this headache as bad as we did this year!!

What type of filter do u recommend for my pool? If it’s feasible maybe it’s something we can install on the off season.
 
The type is fine, cartridge is great. Your filter size it the smallest they make, and you have a very large pool. A 400+ SF filter would be much better for your pool size.

I really want to stop by and thank all of you for your great help! I have learned so much in the few months that I have owned a pool and joined this forum!!
I haven’t had to do anything to my pool in 3 weeks besides add chlorine here and there to keep my FC up! Everything is running good so far and I have been able to enjoy my pool on a few occasions when it’s been warm enough!
Today’s readings were as follow:
FC 3
CC 0
CH 350
ALK 110
PH 7.5
CYA 30
Water Temp 78!
It’s been holding steady! I changed out my filters a week ago. I throw Robbie ( my robot) into the pool daily for cleaning of 3.5 hrs and all is good! I added a solar cover and reel to my pool! I’m looking into adding a heater to warm the waters quicker- possibly diy. I’m hoping to get many years of fun out of my pool without paying a pool company to mess it all up!!
