Florida woman finally building a pool!

Hi all! So not much to post lately but finally plumbing is done! Turns out they had to switch out the pipes because they used the wrong pipes and I think that affected the pressure. I have a pretty long run, the pipes they used were not the wider ones. Not sure how that works but I think to get the right pressure they needed to use the wider pipes. That part is over and passed inspection. My question though is I noticed they must have filled the holes they did with concrete. Is this ok? They most likely did not use Gunite since they did by hand. Is that ok or something to bring up to them? @Newdude @kimkats thoughts??

Thanks @kimkats ! As long as it is normal I am happy. Hopefully I will have more exciting pictures in a few weeks..or whenever they plan to come next.
Most likely your plans specified the pipe sizes and they used the wrong size or the system didn't hold pressure like it should, so they started digging up and replacing things until they got it fixed. It happens, sometimes pipe can get a split in it and not be noticeable until they pressurize it. Glad they got it done. Those are just guesses.

@OrlandoBull You are spot on! The plumbing guy told me that when they sent the pictures to my builder they informed them they used the wrong pipes, said they had a bad day that day. I guess when they are done plumbing it is standard practice to send the project manager pictures of what they did. That is why they had to come back and switch out the pipes. And I guess they had already scheduled inspection the day after the first install (I saw the report) and they failed it because of wrong pipes and pressure. They did put a new pump and filled in the ditches, and I saw I passed plumbing inspection. Progress!
I guess they do not keep the pipes filled with water because now I don't see any pressure registered, I assume they do that when they hook everything up.
Next is supposed to be the pavers but I asked them to make sure to hook up the electrical first as I think they may need to move some things around. My pool is on the side of the house and I am prewired for pool so they will use that electricity and run it around to other side of house where the equipment will be. But my understanding is code is 6ft from water and that prewire box is at exactly 6ft or less since box sticks out an inch or two. So not sure if they will need to move the prewire box to other side of wall by my bathroom door so it is over 6ft. Last thing I want them to do is put the pavers down and then electrical come in and say they need to dig up the pavers to move the conduit to other wall. Its not far but I think best they do now. Do you happen to know if code is over 6ft or 6ft exactly works? Here are some pictures.

Yep, definitely get all of your underground stuff done before pavers! Typically tile would be done before the pavers I think. I guess they can do coping first then tile up to it, but I think typically tile is done first. I have heard that a lot of the 6x6 waterline tile is on backorder, so maybe they are rearranging things to keep it moving while they wait on materials.
Is your PB doing your fence? I have a buddy who's pool has been done for 3+ weeks and he still doesn't have water due to fence delay. I would hound whoever is responsible for that to make sure it's on the schedule. I left my screen guy unattended for a bit and I think I am going to have a delay at the end on mine as well. Hopefully he can get through permitting quickly and catch up. Fence has to be in before you can fill in order to meet the safety requirements.
Have you selected your plaster? We're trying to make that decision now, it's painful!

I am glad you mentioned tile, I had a feeling with so much demand tile will be on backorder. Hopefully mine is ok as selected NPT Equinox Icy Teal glass tile.
No, pool builder is not doing fence. I went with Dave's fence and they seem to be fairly quick. Signed up a month ago and the rep told me they were running several weeks out due to demand, I think he said 12 weeks. I was cutting it close. But then then last week I got a call from scheduling that they were ready to install! I was so surprised but said hold up, I need my pool finished. They said only to give them 2 weeks notice. I got quotes from 3 companies and one thing I liked about Dave's fence is they have their own manufacturing company in Lakeland I think it is. They told me that with all the demand companies are telling folks they can get the supplies and they can't, but since they own their own fence manufacturing company (I think they bought it years ago) they have control of that.
Now the plumbing people told me my pool would finish quicker if no screen, those folks are backed up too. I wont have a screen on the pool but they are screening the patio so I may get delayed from that too. Not sure if they can finish the pool and come back and do patio. They said patio will be done last.
Plaster is SO hard!! I selected Stonescapes Caribbean Blue but that was off a picture. I asked my builder if they can show me actual pools and they gave me the number of someone in their office that can cross reference and put me in touch with the home owner. So I have to still do that. If I don't stick with that color I may go with Aqua white. Aqua blue is nice but I don't want a blue sunshelf. It is such a hard decision!

I have been waiting forever for tile, but finally most of it has been installed. So stressful not knowing what it will look like. It is an aqua color which is what I wanted and really happy. Just need the rest done.

When they put the wrong pipes to the pool they drilled holes that were too big, but when they changed to the correct pipes they filled the holes with concrete. I see cracks in the added concrete so not sure if that is normal or something I need to bring up.
When they installed the tile it looks like they pu plaster or something to make the top area level. It is covered in cracks. Is that normal?

Not sure if it's entirely normal, but mine looks the same. Nothing structural on the top, it's just holding the tile in place, then your coping is going to be mortared in, should be fine. My pipes also have some of those cracks. Again, the plaster should fix that issue... I had to reinforce with my plaster company that I am expecting them to seal around all of the pipes. If the pool leaks, I don't want people pointing the finger at one another, 1 sub is responsible for making sure it doesn't leak, that's the plaster sub in my opinion.
@OrlandoBull Great point! I will make sure I emphasize the same with our plaster people. I don't want any of this stuff to come back and haunt me!
Not much to report. My patience was pretty good until 5 months. My dreams of a memorial day party will have to wait until 2022:-(. This week pavers and coping were delivered and concrete poured in patio area. No idea when pavers will be installed but practicing patience. The coping is marble which I hope is ok in sun as pool builder sold it. I couldn't resist and put 2 pieces on pool to see how it looks. I think once pavers are installed I can see the size and can start buying patio furniture.

I hope your marble is cooler than ours. We just have it around the spa and it is so much hotter than our cool deck. Ours is Tahoe Blue.
@Nikilyn Oh no! I hope mine isn't hot. They are actually installing now so hopefully it isn't. It is pretty white, but time will tell!
