Opening pool & trying not to spend a fortune.

For the past two years I have been been trusting the pool company to advise me on the chemicals I need to add. I have been paying a fortune to maintain a 13,600 gal above ground pool. Today's water analysis came back with this print out. Can anyone advise me on how to save any money?

Welcome to TFP.

First step in saving money is spending some money on a good test kit and setup. Either the TFTest kit Test Kits or the Taylor K-2006C. Plus get the Speed Stir or get the TF Pro bundle that includes it.

When you get your test kit post your own test results.

While you are waiting for your test kit put 1 gallon of 10% liquid chlorine in your pool daily.

First off, don't buy any chemicals from a pool store. You can find the exact same chemicals you need at either the grocery store or the hardware store. For example....
Alkalinity Increaser = Baking Soda! Big bags avail at Walmart or Costco for about $7. Pool Store version $12+
CYA Stabilizer is available at Lowes, Walmart far cheaper.
Liquid Chlorine = Walmart 10% Pool Essentials Liquid Chlorine $3.74
Need to adjust your pH up?? --> Borax from the laundry aisle at the grocery store........ and so on!

With your own test kit you won't ever have to go into a pool store! 🎉
